Ben Affleck was reportedly set up with Shakira: actor says he is not looking for a new romance

Ben Affleck is in no rush to return to the dating scene two years after his split from Jennifer Lopez. The 54-year-old Hollywood actor revealed that his main priorities at the moment are his career and his three children, while his personal life has taken a back seat.

Affleck told Entertainment Tonight that he barely makes time for dating and is not actively looking for a new partner.

“I don’t have that much time for it. I’m not constantly going on dates. It’s not really a priority for me right now,” the actor said.

Affleck stressed that he is perfectly content with his life as it is and does not feel any pressure to jump into a new relationship.

“I know what really matters to me. You can’t have two things in your life that are both number one at the same time. My kids are number one. And then there’s my work, which I really love,” he explained.

The actor did not rule out the possibility of a new romance in the future, but said he has no intention of actively searching for love.

During the interview, the journalist also asked Affleck about a claim made by The View co-host Ana Navarro, who said she had tried to set him up with Colombian singer Shakira following his 2024 split from Lopez.

According to Navarro, the idea came up at one of Shakira’s concerts in Miami, which was attended by Matt Damon, his wife and their daughters. Damon and Affleck have been close friends for decades, and the TV host thought the singer — who had also gone through a breakup by that point — could be a good match for the actor.

Navarro said Damon was cautious about the idea because Lopez and Shakira are friends. However, in the TV host’s view, enough time had passed since Affleck and Lopez’s breakup for the actor and singer to potentially get to know each other.

Affleck, however, said he was hearing the story for the first time from reporters.

“Honestly, I’m hearing about this for the first time from people like you. I’ve never heard of this in my life. People gossip, and a lot of things are simply made up,” the actor said.

He also made his position clear: “I don’t get set up with people.”
