Christian Louboutin has once again transformed a footwear presentation into a spectacular theatrical production. Dita Von Teese took center stage at the presentation of his Spring 2027 collection at Paris’s Théâtre du Châtelet, with Cynthia Erivo, Elizabeth Debicki, Jaden Smith, Jean Paul Gaultier, Heidi Klum and Daphne Guinness among the guests, according to WWD.

Titled Eternal Youth, the show celebrated the iconic La Pigalle pumps, first introduced in 2004. Named after the famous Parisian neighborhood, the elongated silhouette has become one of Christian Louboutin’s signature designs.

Von Teese appeared onstage in a look inspired by Snow White, but instead of the traditional fairy tale about a princess waiting to be rescued, the audience was presented with a story of female strength and independence. Her character encountered a blonde version of herself — a kind of alter ego embodying the contradictions within the human personality.

For the production, Von Teese wore a striking Mr. Pearl corset, a white cape by John Galliano and a headpiece by Stephen Jones. The show brought together burlesque, contemporary choreography, opera arias and music by Mozart and Vivaldi.

La Pigalle took center stage. For the finale, Louboutin created a giant version of the iconic pump. Von Teese’s elegant performance ended in a spectacular shower of confetti and fire, before the designer himself appeared onstage wearing a mask representing a character who had previously taken part in the performance.

The collection also featured unique interpretations of La Pigalle, including a version adorned with golden feather wings and the Macbetha, embellished with dark crystals and skeletal metal detailing. Another striking new design was the fiery red Ballerina Ultima, featuring an embroidered upper and a crystal-covered sole.

The evening concluded in the theater’s lavish gilded rooms, where guests were treated to live music and cocktails bearing names inspired by the show. Once again, Louboutin proved that his shoes can be far more than accessories — they can become an integral part of a full-scale theatrical performance.
