16:30 10 October, 2026An extraordinary piece of luxury real estate has hit the market in the Maldives: a private island featuring four fully furnished villas, its own beach and a coral reef. Part of the new Baccarat Maldives resort development, the island is listed for $72 million. What makes the deal particularly unusual is that buyers can pay not only with traditional currency but also with stablecoins — digital assets pegged to the value of the US dollar, Robb Report reports.
The island is located off the southern tip of the main island within the Baccarat Maldives development. Each of its four villas features four bedrooms, a private swimming pool measuring approximately 20 meters in length, a gym, two yoga pavilions and expansive terraces offering panoramic ocean views.

The property has its own beach and coral reef. Access is provided via a private road with controlled entry. Dedicated security personnel are on site, and staff are available around the clock.
The island and its four villas are being offered for a total of $72 million, equivalent to $18 million per residence. All four homes are being sold fully furnished, with completed interiors.
The architectural design was developed by HKS, the interiors were created by London-based studio 1508 London, and the lighting design was handled by L’Observatoire International.

The villas have been designed to maximize their connection with the surrounding landscape. Living areas open directly onto the beach and the sea, while the primary bedrooms offer views of the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
The island is being marketed by Corn, a private club for cryptocurrency holders. For a limited period, the company has secured exclusive rights to offer the property and is overseeing the transaction process.
Buyers can pay in USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. Unlike many other cryptocurrencies, stablecoins of this kind are designed to maintain a relatively steady value of around $1 per token. This allows holders of digital assets to purchase real estate without first converting their USDC into conventional dollars, although the transaction must still comply with the relevant legal requirements.

Corn founder Chris Spadafora believes the use of stablecoins in luxury real estate transactions reflects the expanding possibilities of digital finance.
For buyers who are not ready to acquire an entire island, other options are available. Corn is also offering four beachfront residences within the same development: two three-bedroom villas priced at $7.3 million each and two four-bedroom villas priced at $11.6 million apiece. These properties can also be purchased using stablecoins.
Baccarat Maldives is envisioned as a major resort development combining a hotel, private residences, a golf course, a marina, restaurants and wellness facilities.

The sale of a separate island makes the project particularly appealing to buyers seeking more than a villa at a luxury resort. It offers a private estate with its own beach, coral reef, dedicated security and round-the-clock service. The option to pay in stablecoins makes the transaction another example of how digital assets are gradually entering the ultra-luxury real estate market.
