Prince Harry reportedly earned $100,000 for taking part in an educational project by MasterClass, in which he spoke candidly about grief, depression and the loss of his mother, Princess Diana. According to the Daily Mail, a representative for the Duke of Sussex confirmed that he received a fee for participating in the project.

A source cited by the publication urged people not to rush to criticize the prince, suggesting they watch his presentation in full before passing judgment.

“I would advise everyone to watch it before making any judgments,” the source told the Daily Mail, adding that Harry should not be overly criticized for “speaking from the heart.”

As part of a MasterClass course titled Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss, Harry appeared as one of the instructors alongside American neuroscientist Dr. Mary-Frances O’Connor. The course aims to help viewers find new ways to cope with loss and regain emotional balance.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, MasterClass instructors can expect an advance payment of at least $100,000, as well as 30% of the subscription revenue generated by their courses.

During the session, the Duke of Sussex spoke at length about the grief he has experienced since his mother died in August 1997. Harry was just 12 years old at the time, while Princess Diana was 36.

Harry admitted that he still feels a special connection to his mother and sometimes talks to her portrait.

He said that for many years after Diana’s death, he felt emotionally numb. He believed that allowing himself to enjoy life after such a profound loss would amount to betraying his mother’s memory, leaving him burdened with guilt.

Over time, however, he came to believe that Diana would have wanted him to be happy.

“That was a huge internal turning point for me. I felt liberated, and my whole outlook on life changed,” the Duke confessed.
