19:19 10 October, 2026Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage is reportedly going through a serious crisis, according to sources cited by RadarOnline. Just weeks after returning to the UK, the Duchess of Sussex has allegedly considered leaving her husband and checking into a “safe and discreet” hotel with their two children.
Meghan, 45, and Harry, 42, moved to Montecito, California, in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family. However, following their return to the UK in late August, the couple’s relationship has reportedly come under renewed strain, according to the publication.
A source cited by RadarOnline claimed that Markle had already consulted lawyers, as the safety of her children remains her top priority.
The couple continue to pay for their own security while also seeking to have taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK reinstated. They lost that protection after stepping back from their royal duties in 2020.
However, according to the publication, security concerns are not the only source of tension within the family.
Even before Harry’s return to the UK, rumours emerged of an alleged affair with an unidentified woman from the Santa Barbara area. According to the tabloid’s account, Meghan supposedly learned of the suspected infidelity after discovering messages on her husband’s phone. The report provides no substantiated evidence to support these claims.
“The fact that she is planning to leave for a hotel without Harry is particularly telling, especially after he found himself at the centre of an infidelity scandal. It gives the impression that their marriage is on the brink,” a source told the publication.
Palace Braces for Another Scandal
According to a RadarOnline source, the British royal family is preparing for a fresh escalation in the conflict surrounding the Sussexes. The alleged marital crisis could trigger another wave of damaging headlines about the royal family, the insider suggested.
“Meanwhile, the palace is on high alert, bracing for an unprecedentedly bitter war,” the source claimed.
According to the insider, Meghan had been reluctant to return to the UK in the first place and decided to leave after sensing danger, catching Harry off guard.
The prince, meanwhile, had reportedly hoped that returning to his home country would allow him to restore his state-funded security arrangements without major difficulties. That did not happen, and the setback allegedly left Harry frustrated and angry, according to the source.
Fresh Security Concerns for the Children
Further tension reportedly arose after Harry and Meghan withdrew their seven-year-old son, Archie, and five-year-old daughter, Lilibet, from a new private school in the UK just two days after classes began, RadarOnline reported.
According to the publication, the decision was prompted by concerns about the children’s safety after their security convoy became separated in heavy traffic. The couple reportedly transferred the children to another school afterward.
A RadarOnline source suggested that the repeated focus on security could be diverting attention from deeper problems within the family.
“They use security as an issue when it suits them, to distract attention from what is really going on. The truth is that their marriage has been struggling for some time,” the source claimed.
