Kim Kardashian Recreates Elizabeth Taylor’s Iconic Style in Vintage Balenciaga Gown and Dazzling Diamonds

Kim Kardashian made a glamorous appearance on the red carpet at the 2026 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, paying tribute to Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. For the event, often dubbed the “West Coast Met Gala,” the star chose a vintage 1951 Balenciaga gown and a dramatic bouffant hairstyle.

The strapless dress featured delicate lace detailing, a pink ribbon along the neckline and an oversized bow at the back. Kardashian, 44, worked with stylist Law Roach to create the look.

Her jewelry stole the spotlight. She accessorized the gown with a layered Leviev diamond necklace weighing 55.8 carats, along with statement earrings by Zydo Italy featuring a total of 10.2 carats of diamonds.

Her choice of Balenciaga was no coincidence. Kardashian has collaborated with the fashion house for years and even walked in its runway show in 2025 wearing earrings that had once belonged to Taylor herself.

Kardashian has openly admired the legendary actress for years. Last year, she released the documentary series Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar and has repeatedly drawn inspiration from the Cleopatra star’s iconic style.
