23:01 20 October, 2026Men have admitted that they find women’s necks particularly attractive — a sensitive area that is often overlooked. According to sexologists, its appeal lies not only in touches and kisses, but also in the sense of intimacy, vulnerability and trust between partners.
Ask men which parts of a woman’s body they find most attractive, and many will mention breasts or buttocks. But, as Metro discovered, there is another, less obvious area that can trigger intense arousal: the neck.
In a discussion on Reddit, men admitted that they consider the neck an underrated erogenous zone. One user explained that touching the neck feels particularly intimate to him. Another said he finds it captivating when a woman ties up her hair or sweeps it over her shoulder, exposing her neck to kisses.
Some men point out that the skin in this area is especially sensitive, and that their partner’s reaction to gentle touches makes the moment even more exciting. Others, however, admitted that their interest in the neck has a much more obvious explanation: it is located directly above the breasts.
Why Is the Neck So Attractive?
According to Kate Campbell, a British certified family therapist, simply knowing that a partner enjoys having their neck touched can heighten arousal.
Another reason is the neck’s lack of overt sexual symbolism. Psychotherapist Hannah Jackson-McCamley notes that in a world where even everyday looks have become sexualized, subtle expressions of sensuality can be just as alluring as more overt displays of sexuality.
The neck is also considered a vulnerable part of the body. Allowing a partner to touch it can be a sign of particular intimacy and trust. Campbell points out that in the animal kingdom, exposing the neck can be associated with submission. In humans, this vulnerability may inspire a desire to protect a partner — or sometimes trigger a subconscious sense of possession.
However, this kind of intimacy is not for everyone. Allowing someone to touch the neck requires trust, which is why some people, conversely, dislike being touched there.
