“Meghan Is Taking Away His Last Hope”: Prince Harry Reportedly Devastated by Wife’s Decision to Spend Christmas in the US

Meghan Markle’s decision to spend Christmas in the United States, away from the British royal family, has reportedly dealt a painful blow to Prince Harry. According to RadarOnline, the Duke of Sussex had hoped to celebrate the holiday in the UK with his wife and children, believing it could help him rebuild his relationship with his father, King Charles III.

Sources cited by the outlet claim that the Duchess of Sussex appears determined to return to California to spend Christmas with her mother, Doria Ragland.

According to insiders, Meghan does not want to find herself once again in a position where she has to win over the royal family after the couple reportedly received a cool reception at Buckingham Palace following their return to the UK in August.

“Harry desperately wanted to stay in the UK. He saw Christmas as a rare opportunity to rebuild his relationship with King Charles III, especially if the grandchildren could spend time with their grandfather,” a source said.

According to the insider, the prince had clung to the hope that the holiday season might finally help bridge the divide between him and his relatives.

“He imagined being able to spend meaningful time with his father, having the children be around their grandfather, and perhaps beginning to leave years of resentment behind.

“Harry understands that nothing can be fixed overnight, but he hoped the festive atmosphere would give everyone a reason to let their guard down and take a step toward one another. The thought of another Christmas passing without that happening is causing him enormous pain, especially because he believes time spent with his father is priceless,” the source claimed.

Meghan Does Not Want to Keep Trying to Win Over the Royal Family

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly sees the situation very differently. According to the source, she believes the couple have spent too long trying to win the approval of people who have shown little willingness to welcome them back.

“Meghan doesn’t want to spend the holidays feeling tense, wondering whether they will be invited anywhere and worrying about how they will be treated if they do show up.

“In California, she can surround herself with people who genuinely want to celebrate with them. Her mother will be there, too. The children will be able to enjoy a peaceful, happy Christmas.

“Harry understands why that option appeals to Meghan, and he doesn’t want to force her into a situation she dreads. But that doesn’t make it any easier for him to accept that the family reunion he has dreamed of is unlikely to happen,” the insider said.

Harry Fears His Father Will See Their Departure as Giving Up on Reconciliation

Another major concern for the prince reportedly revolves around how King Charles III will react to the couple’s decision to return to the United States. According to the insider, Harry fears his father will interpret the move as a sign that his son has given up on trying to repair family relations.

“He is worried it will look as though they have given up and decided to walk away simply because things haven’t gone the way they wanted.

“He desperately wants Charles to understand that he still wants a relationship with him and that being part of the family remains incredibly important to him,” the source claimed.

According to the insider, the prince also recognizes that every missed family holiday, birthday or gathering only widens the distance between him and his relatives.

“He is trying to support Meghan and show a united front with his wife, but privately he is struggling with the fear that this decision could push him even further away from the reconciliation he has been longing for,” the source concluded.
