How Katy Perry Ended Up Living a Teenage Dream Love With Justin Trudeau

Things were kinda heavy for Katy Perry last summer in the wake of her breakup with Orlando Bloom, but they didn't stay that way for long, E! News writes.

"I learned how to step back into my purpose," she told People in September, "and I got the greatest gift from this tour: I got to meet the love of my life."

You might even say the California gurl found her true north.

When Perry embarked on the Canadian leg of her Lifetimes Tour in July 2025, she received the warmest welcome when she got to Montreal, where she had dinner with the country's former prime minister Justin Trudeau. And while they didn't immediately run away and not ever look back, two months later they were kissing on a yacht off the shore of Santa Barbara.

Because while the Ottawa native may not be from a different dimension, he isn't like the others.

And after they met, Perry recalled, "things shifted."

"I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it," the 42-year-old explained. "Everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece—then it showed up.”

If this sounds like a lot, especially since her relationship with Trudeau blossomed hot on the heels of the end of her engagement to Bloom, she meant no disrespect to the father of her 6-year-old daughter Daisy.

The English actor, who said on TODAY last year that there was "nothing but love" between him and Perry, is now dating Swiss model Luisa Laemmel.
