“People Keep Asking Me About It”: Kim Kardashian Considers a Political Career

Kim Kardashian is not ruling out the possibility of entering politics one day. The reality star revealed that she regularly receives messages from people who believe she could be a potential candidate for public office. However, before considering a political career, she wants to complete her legal education and get a better handle on her own business affairs.

“People keep asking me about it,” Kardashian told journalist Jonathan Van Meter for his new book, Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future. According to the star, after Joe Biden’s disastrous debate performance, many people reached out to suggest that she could try her hand at politics. Kardashian admitted that the confidence people have in her is flattering.

However, she has no plans to change careers immediately. Her first priority is to obtain her legal qualifications. She also noted that holding public office could make it more difficult to manage Skims, the company she founded in 2019 and continues to focus on developing.

“I definitely need time. But we have time,” the star added.

Kardashian’s friend, political commentator Van Jones, who has helped guide her on her path toward a legal career, also supports the possibility of her entering politics. He suggested that Kim could eventually open her own law firm offering free legal assistance in cases related to criminal justice reform. In Jones’s view, Kardashian’s public profile and experience could one day lead her to take on a broader role in public life.

In recent years, Kim has indeed devoted considerable attention to criminal justice and reforming the legal system. Her involvement in campaigns advocating for reduced sentences has brought attention to the cases of incarcerated people, while her pursuit of a legal education has become a continuation of that work.

Nevertheless, Kardashian has not announced any plans to run for public office. For now, her main priorities remain her legal career and the continued growth of Skims.
