22:27 2 November, 2026Prince William and Kate Middleton were reportedly made aware of a 2019 letter sent to police — which was later passed on to Meghan Markle — containing allegations of child sexual abuse against the Duchess of Sussex’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr, Page Six writes.
A source close to the royal family told the Daily Mail Thursday that it was “unthinkable” the Royal Household had not been made aware of the letter, which sources previously told Page Six was written by Thomas Sr.’s late ex-wife, Roslyn Loveless.
The insider also told the outlet that Meghan, 45, and her husband, Prince Harry, 42, would not have received the letter “in isolation.”
“It was the police’s duty to make the Palace aware of the claims, and they will have done so,” the source said.
As previously reported, Thomas Sr., 82, is currently under investigation by the Cebu City Police Office in the Philippines after “hundreds, if not thousands,” of child sexual abuse images were allegedly discovered in his home by his son, Thomas Markle Jr.
Thomas Jr., 60, allegedly found the images inside several boxes stored among family “mementos,” telling the Sun last week, “When I found this material, I was horrified and I had no option but to report my dad.”
In a statement later shared with Page Six, Meghan said she was “deeply distressed” by the news, revealing that she had received a letter in 2018 containing similar “troubling and disturbing” allegations against her father, which she said contributed to their estrangement.
