11:16 4 November, 2026Kim Kardashian is not ready to abandon her dream of becoming a lawyer, despite failing the bar exam. However, she is in no rush to take it again. The reality star plans to return to her studies when she can fully focus on preparing. According to Page Six, she is not expected to retake the exam before 2027.
Kardashian spoke about her plans at the premiere of the second season of All’s Fair in New York City. She admitted that she is not embarrassed by her setback and is continuing to study.
“I’m trying my best, and I’m learning so much,” she said. Kim added that those who should really feel embarrassed are the people who do not even try to prepare for the exam.
Still, Kardashian has an undeniably busy schedule. Alongside filming the series and her reality show, she is managing several business ventures and raising her four children. A source told Page Six that balancing work, motherhood and preparation for one of the toughest professional exams in the US is no easy task. That is why Kim has decided to wait until she has enough time to devote herself fully to studying.
“I’m constantly thinking about the bar. I want to take my time and wait for the right moment, when I have the time to really focus on studying,” she explained in an interview with People.
Kardashian began pursuing a legal career in 2019 after becoming involved in the campaign to secure the release of Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence. Inspired by criminal justice reform, Kim decided to study law. Instead of attending a traditional law school, she enrolled in a four-year apprenticeship program at a law firm.
In 2021, the reality star passed the so-called “baby bar” exam — but only on her fourth attempt. In July 2025, she sat for California's full bar exam but failed to achieve the required score. At the time, Kardashian vowed not to give up and promised to continue preparing.
For now, Kim's legal career has largely unfolded on screen: she plays a divorce attorney in All’s Fair. Kardashian has admitted that she dreamed of becoming a licensed lawyer even before filming began, hoping to combine her acting role with an actual legal practice.
“I would love to merge those two worlds. Hopefully, that will happen while the show is still on,” she said.
Kim's co-star Sarah Paulson has also supported her ambitions, expressing confidence that Kardashian could become a good lawyer. And judging by her determination, the reality star is intent on proving it — once she faces the bar exam again.
