Famous violinist to give first concert in Armenia (PHOTOS)

By Shushan Shatikyan YEREVAN. – World-renowned violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky will perform in a concert for the first time in Armenia.  

On Thursday, Sitkovetsky will perform together with the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia (SYOA), in capital city Yerevan.   At Wednesday’s press conference, the famous classical violinist and conductor said he is very happy to give a concert in Armenia together with a youth orchestra.

 “The youth is our future. The love, the enthusiasm that exists in youth orchestras is our future,” Sitkovetsky stated.  

In turn, SYOA Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sergey Smbatyan noted that his orchestra always endeavors to reach ever-greater heights, and the concert with a master like Dmitry Sitkovetsky will contribute to this objective.       

Smbatyan added that the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia will perform Johannes Brahms’ works for the first time in the forthcoming concert.
