Extra weight of mother can affect intellect of child

A child’s intellect highly depends on mother’s weight at the moment of getting pregnant, British experts claim.

It is still unclear how extra kilos may influence on the intellectual development of children, but the fat negatively impacts on the development of the brain of an embryo. At the same time, experts claim that both genetic and external factors influence on the cognitive development. After the study of verbal skills and ability to read and analyze of over 20,000 children at the age of 5 to 7, the experts came to a conclusion that children, whose mothers had extra weight in the period of pregnancy, showed the worst results.
