Celine Dion's husband Rene Angelil passed away at 73

René Angélil, husband of Céline Dion, has died. The 47-year-old Canadian singer’s longtime love and former manager was 73 years old and battled cancer for a long time.

“Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning as his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer,” his rep told People. “The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time.”

Celine and Rene first met when she was 14 years old and they later married in 1994.
