DMX sentenced to prison for a year

DMX has been sentenced to one year in prison.

The rapper was handed the sentence during a hearing in Manhattan earlier today (March 28) for tax evasion charges. DMX – real name Earl Simmons – pleaded guilty to the charges last year and could have been given a maximum sentence of five years.

Following 12 months in jail, Simmons will then have three years of supervised release, as TMZ reports.
