Eurovision 2019 kicks off in Tel Aviv! Stay tuned for exclusive reports from NEWS.am STYLE

The international Eurovision-2019 Song Contest kicked off in Tel Aviv on Monday. The semi-finals will be held at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Center on May 14 and 16, the final is scheduled for May 18.

A solemn ceremony traditionally began with “orange walkway”, when representatives of 41 countries proceeded around the square at the Habima Theatre in the center of the city.

The Eurovision Village, 'Euro Village,' in Charles Clore Park, is opened to the public now, TASS reported.

There was an official fan zone where four huge screens have been installed, as well as 85 gastronomic tents and 100 m long bars.

The ninth channel of Israeli television reports that increased security measures have been taken in Tel Aviv. The entire week will be patrolled by 20,000 policemen throughout the whole week, and weapons are not allowed at all Eurovision events.

This year Armenia will be represented by Srbuk (Srbuhi Sargsyan) with the song Walking Out. She will be the first to perform on the second day of the semi-finals. Tomorrow, the NEWS.am STYLE will share their exclusive reports from Tel Aviv. So, stay tuned!
