Why Meghan Markle splits up with her first husband?

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle split up with her first husband because of distance, express.co reported. 

Meghan was married to film producer Trevor Engelson years before she became a member of the Royal Family.

In 2019 Channel 5 documentary “Meghan Markle: Movies, Marriage & Motherhood”, royal correspondent Ashley Pierson said: "They were together for seven years, married for two. The problem with the marriage was the distance. As soon as they married she got the gig on Suits and she was in Toronto and he was in LA. The relationship just didn’t last.”

Markle divorced Engelson in 2013. In November 2017, Prince Harry proposed to her, they were married in May 2018. A year later, the couple's first child was born - he was named Archie.
