HBO Max engaged in Harry Potter series

HBO Max is engaged in a Harry Potter series, The Hollywood Reporter noted.

HBO Max and Warner Bros. executives are looking for a screenwriter.

However, the project may face some issues with copyrights owned by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

In 2016, NBCUniversal signed a deal with Warner Bros. and received the rights to broadcast films in the US until 2025, while HBO Max still has to sign a deal.
