Valentino apologizes for new campaign after being accused of insulting Japanese culture

Valentino has apologized for the ad campaign featuring Japanese model Mitsuki Kimura, also known as Kōki.

In the photos, she poses on a piece of cloth that reminded looked like an obi belt worn over a kimono.

After the campaign, Valentino was accused of insulting Japanese culture. The fashion house removed the photos and apologized.

The spokesperson noted the importance of fostering a culture of equality and inclusion.
