The Simpsons director dies aged 47

The artist and director of The Simpsons Edwin Aguilar has died after suffering stroke at the age of 47, The Sun reported citing the animator's wife Marika.

Aguilar was hospitalized complaining of loss of speech and difficulty moving a week before his death. He has diabetes and kidney problems that lead to heart disease.

On April 8, Aguilar suffered a stroke and died two days later. The wife explained that the cerebral hemorrhage was severe, that he could not survive it.

Edwin Aguilar was born in El Salvador and fled to the United States in 1982.
