An evergreen plant discovered recently in Cameroon was named after the American actor Leonard DiCaprio. Thus, scientists from the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew in the UK decided to celebrate the environmental activism of the American actor, according to the BBC.

Recently discovered in Cameroon, the tropical flora Uvariopsis dicaprio is an evergreen tree with shiny yellow flowers that grow right on the trunk. Now this species is endangered. It was named after DiCaprio to pay tribute to the actor who helped stop the deforestation of Ebo, Central Africa's largest forest, according to the BBC.
