Whoopi Goldberg apologizes for her scandalous remarks about Holocaust

Hollywood actress Whoopi Godberg addressed her subscribers after the scandal associated with her remarks about the Holocaust, Regnum reported.

Earlier the actress took part in a discussion during which the Tennessee school board voted to exclude Art Spiegelman's 1992 Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel Maus, from the program. The council was accused of being motivated by the Holocaust theme the comic book is about.

"Let’s be truthful about it because the Holocaust isn’t about race. No, it’s not about race. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man,” Goldberg responded on ABC's The View.

The statement sparked off a wave of criticism online, commentators accused her of distorting the historical facts.

Whoopi later apologized to those whose feelings were hurt. She has also explained why she was inaccurate: "I said the Holocaust ‘is not about race but about man’s inhumanity to man.’ I should have said it is about both,” the comedienne wrote on Twitter.
