Debi Ciricella, president of American Hearst, announced that she is ending her partnership with Russian partners Shkulev Media and Fashion Press, which produced Cosmopolitan, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire and Men's Health magazines, WWD reported.

"While we firmly believe our brands play a critical role in engaging and informing audiences on a range of subjects, including current events, the escalation of the humanitarian crisis and our deep concern about the broader impact it could have has forced us to reassess our role — and our responsibility — as a global business," said Hearst's president.

Esquire's editor-in-chief in Russia, Sergey Minaev, announced the closure of the magazine due to the revocation of its license. The April issue will be the last.
