Tom Hanks 'doesn't understand' why they 'didn't let Tim Allen do' voice of Buzz in Lightyear

Oscar winner Tom Hanks commented on the recent Disney/Pixar project Buzz Lightyear . The actor who gave voice to cowboy Woody in the Toy Story franchise was not thrilled with the idea.

'Actually, I wanted to go head-to-head with Tim Allen [at the box office with Elvis] and then they didn't let Tim Allen do it. I don't understand that.'

Tom noted he's simply grateful people are returning to the cinema following years of stress and isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

'I want to go back in the theater with a bunch of strangers and leave with something in common,' Hanks added.

'That's what I want to do and, going to see a movie with [Tim Allen] – I'm looking forward to that.'
