Netflix to produce Johnny Depp's film about King Louis XV

Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is returning to the cinema after a high-profile scandal with his ex-wife Amber Heard. Netflix will produce a new film with the actor. The picture will be called 'La Favorite'. In it, the actor will play the French King Louis XV,  Bloomberg reported.

The film will be directed by Maïwenn.

The premiere of the movie is scheduled for 2023. The film will first be shown in cinemas in France, and after 15 months it will be available on Netflix. Whether it will be available in all countries where the streaming service is presented is unknown.

'La Favorite' is the first film in Depp's filmography he will star in French. Filming will take place in the summer of 2022. They will last three months and will unfold, including in the Palace of Versailles.
