Ricky Martin's lawyer says singer did not have sexual relationship with his nephew

The attorney for Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin denied media reports that the performer had a relationship with his 21-year-old nephew.

“Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew,” the New York Post quoted Martin’s attorney, Marty Singer.

Earlier, the Spanish newspaper Marca wrote that the singer's nephew admitted that Martin subjected him to psychological and physical abuse. If the singer is proven guilty, according to the laws of Puerto Rico, he could face up to 50 years in prison.
