Angelina Jolie will play in biopic about opera singer Maria Callas

Oscar winner Angelina Jolie will star in the biographical film "Maria" about the Greek opera singer Maria Callas. The director will be Chilean director Pablo Larraín ("Spencer", "Jackie").

The story will be set in the final period of Callas's life in Paris in the 1970s. The script for the tape will be written by Steven Knight ("Peaky Blinders"), who also worked on biopics about Jackie Kennedy and Princess Diana.

Last year, Jolie appeared on screen in the comic book movie " Eternals" and the thriller "Those Who Wish Me Dead." Now she is working on a new director's cut "Without Blood" with Salma Hayek. The actress recently sued her ex-husband Brad Pitt for domestic violence.
