Timothee Chalamet announces end of 'Dune' second part filming

Actor Timothee Chalamet, who played the role of Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's "Dune", announced the completion of filming the second part of the film, the actor wrote on his Instagram-account (social network banned in Russia; belongs to Meta Corporation, which is recognized in Russia as extremist and banned).

Filming began in July 2022. They took place in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and Italy.

In total, the filming process lasted about five months.

"Dune 2" will recount the adventures of protagonist Paul Atreides after he teams up with the Freemen to take revenge on the conspirators who destroyed his family. The film will also star Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling and Stephen Henderson. The sequel will premiere on October 3, 2023.

The first part of the film based on the novel by writer Frank Herbert was released on September 3, 2021 and grossed $401.8 million at the worldwide box office.
