House of the Dragon’ Season 2 Teaser Trailer Shows Intense Dragon War Action

14:53, December 4

The HBO fantasy hit and Game of Thrones prequel series unveiled a teaser trailer (below) during its CCXP23 panel in São Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday. The footage includes some intense dragon war action, The Hollywood Reporter writes.

“There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin,” intones Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best). “And no war so bloody as a war between dragons.”

The character giving that agonizing scream on the dragon, by and by, is Lady Baela Targaryen (Bethany Antonia).

The production also announced additional actors joining the show: Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.

House of the Dragon debuted its first season in 2021 to strong ratings and critical acclaim. The show also earned eight Emmy nominations, including best drama series.

The previously announced season two cast includes Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.

Returning cast include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans, as well as Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall and Matthew Needham.

House of the Dragon is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Martin serves as a co-creator and executive producer, while Ryan Condal is showrunners, co-creator and executive producer. Other EPs include Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere and Vince Gerardis.

House of the Dragon returns to HBO and Max for eight episodes next summer.
