The futuristic city of Neom in Saudi Arabia has released a new video highlighting the considerable progress made in the revolutionary project The Line, TradeArabia reports.
Work continues around the clock, moving millions of cubic meters of earth and water every week, a senior official said in the video. “We've done a lot of groundwork, literally and figuratively,” says The Line's development director Denis Hickey.

“One of the most ambitious projects the world has ever seen is rapidly progressing. The first phase of The Line will be completed by 2030,” he noted. “I think the construction of The Line is unique in terms of industrialization and modularity. This foundation will provide the foundation for a city that sets new standards for quality of life, a sustainable, zero-emission city that addresses the big urban challenges facing the world."
The Line represents a new way of living, drawing on experiences from cities around the world to deliver an unparalleled quality of life balanced with conservation, sustainability, and economic prosperity to create a more positive future. “We think there is an opportunity to create a better model of the city, interacting with the landscape, nature and environment. And we think The Line will be an example for the rest of the world,” he adds in the video.
The Line construction project is estimated at more than $200 billion. The building will be 500m high and 650m wide.
