Antoine Fuqua's upcoming Michael Jackson biopic will address the child sex abuse allegations made against the late King of Pop and attempt to portray him in a positive light.
According to Puck News, one early script features a scene in which law enforcement raids Jackson's Neverland Ranch after Jordan Chandler accused him of sexual assault in 1993.
This version of the script does its best to "minimize and downplay the Chandlers' factual allegations" and "convince that Michael is innocent." The biopic is slated for release in 2025, the same year that Wade Robson and Jimmy Safechuck's civil trial against the late artist will take place.
However, it remains to be seen whether these allegations will be included in the final version. Michael will be played by Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of the late King of Pop. The biopic examines Jackson's "complicated legacy," including the performances that earned him the title of "greatest entertainer of all time" as well as allegations of child sexual abuse.
