Pierre Yovanovitch, Christian Louboutin create unique collection of Red-Bottom chairs

16:25, May 6

French designer Pierre Yovanovitch has partnered with legendary Christian Louboutin to create a series of chairs inspired by "historical muses, mythology and cinema." The line includes nine limited-edition creations modeled after Yovanovitch's Clam chair, with Louboutin's famous red-soled shoes as legs, Hypebeast reports.

Each work is filled with a specific character. "Dita," a spectacular burlesque costume with laser-etched upholstery, was created in honor of Louboutin's friend Dita Von Teese. “Joséphine” nods to one of the greatest cabaret performers of the 1920s with dark red oak and a fringed leather seat, while “Sirena” is reminiscent of a mermaid with blue embroidered seaweave and mesh legs.

“This collection is a tribute to French craftsmanship and feminine beauty,” said Yovanovitch. “It was my dream to have the opportunity to collaborate with Christian on this project. Drawing on our shared love for the craft of haute couture, we enlisted a group of classically trained artists to carefully bring these diverse female characters to life.”
