Wine Story: Non-alcoholic wines - this year's trend

21:04, May 21

The non-alcoholic drinks market has seen rapid growth in recent years, and 2024 promises to be a turning point for non-alcoholic wines. This segment, previously perceived as niche, is now experiencing a rise in popularity, attracting increasing attention from both manufacturers and consumers.

Non-alcoholic wine is wine with an ethyl alcohol content of no more than 0.5%. It is made from ordinary wine which goes through all the traditional stages of production, but then the alcohol is removed from it, while preserving the taste and aromatic qualities of this drink. Of course, such a drink only vaguely resembles real alcoholic wine, especially for red wines, which lose some of their tannins along with ethanol. To avoid disappointment, it is better to consider non-alcoholic wine as an independent drink which can be an interesting alternative to regular wine in situations where its consumption is impossible for one reason or another.

Imported from various parts of the world, these wines are now available in stores in Armenia.

Fresh citrus and tropical fruit aromas complemented by spicy undertones and delicate white flowers make it ideal for any occasion that calls for a different kind of indulgence. Thanks to its fine bubbles, fruity taste and harmonious balance, Codorníu Zero is not only ideal for celebratory toasts, but it goes well also with appetizers, seafood, fish, fruit or vegetable salads, cheeses, and desserts.

The average price in the store is 4,700 drams.

Domaine De La Baume Saint-Paul Alcohol Free

This French wine, originally from Laguedoc, has a light ruby red hue that exudes elegance with delicate fruits and spices. Its aroma is somewhat complex, with hints of red berries and blackberries intertwined with spicy nuances. The taste of this wine reveals a soft, rich range of textures in which the fruity and juicy component is emphasized by notes of black currant, delicate spices, and herbal undertones. This wine goes well with red meats, grilled dishes, and a variety of cheeses.

The alcohol is extracted from it using vacuum distillation in rotating cone columns—an innovative method that requires no chemicals or heat and ensures gentle removal within 30 hours.
