By Shushan ShatikyanYEREVAN. – On June 18 and 19, an international song and dance competition-festival will be held in Armenia for the first time.
Chairman Arman Ghukasyan of the Caucasian Association of International Festivals, which is the event organizer, on Thursday noted at a press conference that around 200 participants from a variety of countries had submitted applications to partake in the festival.In addition, as per Ghukasyan, the representatives of Armenia’s national minorities likewise will participate in the competition.
The Armenia-based panel of judges selected 70 of the applicants; 35 for the song and 35 for the dance competitions.
In Ghukasyan’s words, the competition’s panel of judges will primarily comprise foreign professionals, but there will be Armenian specialists, too. The Ministry of Culture of Armenia had helped find the stage for the international festival. The competition winners will get a chance and receive invitations to take part in other international festivals.
