The New Wave 2014 international song contest for young performers was held in Jūrmala, Latvia. Sona Rubenyan, who represented Armenia at the event, came in sixth from among sixteen contestants from thirteen countries.
Georgian representative Nutsa Buzaladze was declared winner of the contest.
Armenia’s representative, however, won the contest website’s Audience Award. Furthermore, and as a result of the well-known Woman.ru website of Russia’s online voting among its readers, Sona Rubenyan was recognized the best artiste of New Wave 2014.
Rubenyan returned to Armenia in the early morning on Tuesday, and she received a very warm reception at Zvartnots International Airport of capital city Yerevan.
