Yerevan Jazz Fest 2016 has kicked off with the stunning concert of Grammy Award-winning Dee Dee Bridgewater on October 13. 66-year-old jazz diva has welcomed the audience in Armenian and thanked everyone for sharing the concert with her.
The first two songs Dee Dee performed together with the talented musicians of Armenian State Jazz Orchestra.
Then Bridgewater welcomed to the stage her band: Theo Croker (trumpeter), Irwin Hall (saxophone), Michael King (keyboards), Eric Wheeler (double bass), Kassa Overall (drums).
They performed “Good Morning Heartache”, “God Bless The Child” by famous Billie Holiday, “Foggy day”, “Afro Blue”, “Save your love for me” songs.
At the end of the concert musicians take the audience to New Orleans.
After the program jazz diva had to come back to the stage again to perform another song with a standing ovation.
