Irish rock band U2 is preparing to release an album called Songs of Surrender, which includes 40 of the group's old songs arranged and recorded anew, Pitchfork reported.
The LP's tracklist will duplicate a list of songs from U2 leader Bono's memoir, "Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story," published in November 2022. The release of "Songs of Surrender" is set for March 17.
Bono teased the project in his memoir, explaining that working on the book “gave [him] a chance to live inside those songs again.” “It also meant I could deal with something that’s been nagging me for some time,” he said. “The lyrics on a few songs that I’ve always felt were never quite written. They are now. (I think.)”
