Kim Kardashian has spoken candidly about her decade-long battle with psoriasis, defending the use of tanning beds to treat this chronic skin condition.

The 43-year-old reality TV star, who was diagnosed with psoriasis in 2011, uploaded a video of her latest "painful" psoriasis flare-up on her right calf. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes skin cells to multiply too quickly, resulting in a rash on the body that is often scaly, itchy, and inflamed. Kim told her 364 million followers she couldn't pinpoint the cause of her latest flare-up and it was migrating up and down her leg.

"My psoriasis is crazy right now," Kim said, highlighting how "painful" the rash is and insisting she's "tried everything" to treat it. “Not gonna lie, it hurts,” Kim wrote. “I don’t know what my triggers are. I didn't change my diet. I tried everything! Psoriasis sucks.” In a follow-up video, the mother of four explained that her psoriasis "usually" occurs in the same spot on her calf, but this time it is spreading "up her thigh."

Finally, the SKKN by Kim founder stood in front of her bathroom mirror and noted that her rash was shaped like a heart—just in time for Valentine's Day. “I’m lucky, I have heart-shaped psoriasis.”

Her latest post comes nearly two weeks after she defended the use of tanning beds to treat psoriasis after fans criticized her for promoting this dangerous cosmetic practice.
