At the 96th Academy Awards ceremony, Rolex announced a new model of the Day-Date watch with a diameter of 40 mm, made in an 18-karat Everose gold case, writes Hypebeast.
The watch first appeared briefly in a video clip that Rolex broadcast before the official awards ceremony to highlight and celebrate the brand's presence in cinema. Most of the minute-long video consists of clips from several films in which characters wear Rolex watches.
As a long-time partner of the Oscars, Rolex once again hosted a “Greenroom” at the ceremony. The space, which was always intended to be a gathering place for nominees and presenters before they take the stage, is reinvented each year with the original theme and concept of the luxury house.
This year’s Greenroom adopted a calming botanical color scheme to live up to its name. This Greenroom features the latest Rolex Day-Date 40 in Everose gold. Featuring a stunning slate gray ombre dial, it features Roman numeral hour markers and a signature date and date indicators. More detailed information about the technical characteristics of this watch, its price, and release dates have not been disclosed yet.
