Marilyn Monroe's pink dress from Pucci goes under hammer for $325,000

11:34, April 1

Marilyn Monroe's dress and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner's tuxedo and slippers were sold at auction over the weekend. The long-sleeved silk jersey Pucci dress fetched $325,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

A single-occupancy crypt-mausoleum at the Pierce Brothers Memorial Park and Mortuary in Westwood Village in Los Angeles, located near the final resting places of Hugh Hefner and Marilyn Monroe, also sold for $195,000, according to organizer Julien's Auctions; an $88,900 Monroe crypt tombstone—constant touching from fans caused minor wear and tear, requiring it to be replaced; Hefner's burgundy tuxedo, slippers, pajamas, and tobacco pipe ensemble ($13,000); and a round mansion bed custom-made for Hefner as a stand-in for his master bed in the original Playboy Mansion in Chicago ($13,000).

The crypt, bed, and other items were sold to Anthony Jabin, a Beverly Hills technology investor. “I always dreamed of spending the rest of my life next to Marilyn Monroe,” Jabin said.

The original Jean Louis-dyed cream/beige silk jersey cocktail dress that Monroe wore to The Misfits cast press conference in the summer of 1960 sold for $65,000.

An Elizabeth Arden lipstick customized by Monroe in a gold case sold for $65,000, making it the second highest-selling lipstick in auction history.

And a custom-made swimsuit set for Monroe in the 1954 musical There's No Business Like Show Business sold for $29,250.
