A SIM card with a unique phone number was sold at an auction in Dubai for 3.2 million dirhams ($871,412). The buyer's name has not been disclosed.
It is not uncommon for unique numbers that symbolize status to go under the hammer for millions in Dubai. In 2022, the three-digit license plate sold for $9.5 million.
Dubai's super-rich have once again demonstrated their passion for unique figures. Indian businessman Balwinder Sahani paid a whopping $9 million to buy a single-digit car license plate in the desert kingdom. So far, Sahani has collected ten license plates and hopes to collect more.
But the sale of a SIM card worth $871,412 with a unique phone number shows that Sahani is not alone.
The phone number, which sold for nearly $900,000, has sevens after the country code.
