NEWS.am STYLE launches a new heading where our journalists Meline Tonoyan and Syune Arakelyan are going to present Armenian national costumes from various regions of Ancient Armenia. The photo shoots are going to be held on the background of the unique historical monuments in Armenia.
The first photo shoot was held in 7th-century built, but now in ruins, Zvartnots Cathedral, which is unique masterpiece of Armenian architecture. Being one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, Cathedral has magical beauty and breathtaking energy. The Cathedral of Zvartnots comes with a circular design. It is one of the highest (45-49meters) early medieval cathedrals. The uniqueness of Zvartnots is in its dome, which was based on a complete circle of apses.
Syune wears the costume typical to Vaspurakan region. Her head ornament with coins is traditional Artsakh region crown.
Meline’s garment embroidered with floral motifs is typical to Urpha region.
