Japanese fashion label Issey Miyake is launching Issey Miyake Men after announcing the closure of its main menswear line in the summer of 2020.
The new IM Men line will focus on the idea of minimalism and utilitarianism: suits made of simple trousers and tight shirts, raincoats with patch pockets and laconic work jackets. The design team of Miyake Design Studio will be responsible for the development of the collections.
According to the creators, the collections will use recycled materials, and production waste will be minimized through intelligent dynamic model design. Also, the collections use technological materials, which, for example, will allow clothes to not wrinkle when worn and transported.
The first collection of the new Issey Miyake Men line will go on sale on March 13. It will be sold in a store in Tokyo and online.
