The 47-year-old actor Vin Diesel says he named his child after his late friend and Fast and the Furious co-star Paul Walker, who died in a car crash in November 2013.

“I named her Pauline,” Vin said on The Today Show.

“He was in the room,” he added. “There’s no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just … knew he was there… It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world.”

Vin and his longtime girlfriend Paloma Jimenez welcomed their third childearlier this month.
