The film 'Amerikatsi,' produced by Arman Nshanyan and directed by Michael Goorjian, has made it to the finals of the Oscars, competing in the Best International Feature Film category. This marks a historic moment for Armenian film production as it's the first time an Armenian film has been shortlisted for an Oscar.
Arman Nshanyan, the producer, expressed his confidence in the film's universal story and success. In a conversation with NEWS.am STYLE, he shared, 'I felt that this film, with its universal story, could achieve such success. I was concerned about whether the film would catch the attention of the Oscars, but I never doubted the quality of the work done.'
Arman mentioned having expectations, and today he considers this achievement a victory.
"It's a film with a universal message – we aimed to portray the importance of love and positivity. While addressing the injustices our nation faced, we did so in a subtle manner. The Oscars does not like to be politicized."
