Jennifer Lopez spoke about the work that helped her get into “fighting shape.”

“I just finished filming Kiss of the Spider Woman, which had a lot of singing and dancing, which was both exhilarating and exhausting,” she noted. “Now I'm thinner than ever. I'm in fighting shape now."

The movie is based on Manuel Puig's 1976 novel of the same name, which takes place in a prison where a gay window dresser tells his cellmate stories about a fictional actress he calls Aurora.

The Broadway production of the musical won seven Tony Awards, and William Hurt won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the 1985 film adaptation.

Lopez noted that the singing and dancing required for her movie provides excellent exercise.
