Former US President Donald Trump's 18-year-old son Baron baffled guests with a 'gold spoon' story, the Irish Times reports.

Baron Trump recently met the stars of FOX News' Valuetainment podcast at a private dinner at Mar-a-Lago.

Barron opened up about life with his famous father and how the results of the November general election may have influenced his choice of university. As the men shared stories about their backgrounds and economic hardships as children, Barron decided to tell a strange story about a gold spoon.

"Yeah, we have the same thing, I mean, I was born in the penthouse of a building at the very top...Life was hard." He then talked about being fed with a silver spoon and asked: "Who eats with a silver spoon? Mine was a gold spoon." The story left the guests puzzled as they tried to grasp the essential difference between a silver spoon and a gold spoon, and why it would be so surprising for young Barron to be fed with a silver one.

Ironically, the story reminded the audience of the saying "born with a silver spoon in your mouth," which means being born into a wealthy family and having a privileged upbringing.
