Why more women are embracing natural bikini hair in 2025

14:44, July 2

Attitudes toward body hair have shifted dramatically over the years — and right now, they’re experiencing a full-on revolution. While smooth underarms and legs have long been the norm, pubic hair was once treated as an unspoken taboo. But in 2025, that’s changing fast: we’ve officially entered what Hypebae calls the era of the “full bush.”

Earlier this year, a TikToker shared a now-viral video about how a simple Etsy review changed her perspective on body hair. The reviewer had posted a bikini photo proudly showing her natural hair — and the “full bush bikini” meme was born. What started as a joke quickly sparked a wider conversation about self-acceptance and the freedom to feel confident in your own skin.

This month, women’s shaving brand Billie leaned into the trend with a limited-edition collaboration with designer Ian Charms. The capsule collection includes a beaded bikini featuring slogans like “I love fuzz” and “Bushkini.” In a press release, the brand said the campaign aims to support all women — whether you’re completely smooth, totally natural, or somewhere in between.

On social media, the #BushSummer hashtag is picking up steam. More people are ditching razors and proudly showing off their natural look, inspiring others to do the same. For many, it’s not just about body hair — it’s about reclaiming choice, confidence, and comfort on their own terms.
