For Leslie Maxwell, 65, age is nothing but a number. Though she already has an adult granddaughter, she prefers to look not like a “grandma” — but like her granddaughter’s best friend. In fact, she’s so youthful that people often mistake her for the sister of her 21-year-old granddaughter Tia.

But that’s not the most talked-about part of her life. Leslie, a personal trainer and fitness guru from Australia, only dates younger men.

“Men over 60? Sorry, but most of the time they’re boring, tired of life, and don’t take care of themselves. Younger men, on the other hand, are full of energy, they love active women, and they can keep up with me both in the gym and outside of it,” she told What’s The Jam.

In one beach photo, Leslie poses in a white bikini — tanned skin, toned abs, and long blonde hair down to her waist. The comments read: “Mom? No, Grandma! What?!” Maxwell says her ideal partners are men aged 20 to 40, explaining that they match her pace of life: “I train every day, I’m always on the move. I need a partner who can keep up — not someone complaining about blood pressure and napping after lunch.”

So what’s her ideal man? Confident, athletic, and funny. “If you’re too scared to walk up to me, you have zero chance,” she insists. “Being fit and spontaneous is a must. Humor and flirting — big bonuses.”

But even the most charming and sporty suitor won’t last if there’s no chemistry. Leslie recalls: “I once went on a date with a successful real estate agent. Everything was nice, but boring. Zero chemistry. After three days I told him honestly: this won’t work.”

And Leslie isn’t the only older woman who prefers younger men. Anne, a guest on the Australian TV show Insight, began dating a much younger man after her divorce.

“We were just chatting, and my friends told me, ‘He’s definitely flirting with you.’ I didn’t even notice at first,” she laughed. “But when we walked down the street, I felt people looking at us disapprovingly. If I were with an older man, no one would have cared. But an older woman with a younger man — suddenly it’s a scandal.”

Both Leslie and Anne agree: it’s high time society stopped measuring love by age.
